It is a family drama film that is a copy of the 1965 movie named ‘The Sound of Magic’ which is an adaptation of Jane Eyre. Except for a slight change in the story, and a change in the climax- you can see that the rest of the movie is completely copied from the Hollywood film. The movie is about a woman who becomes the governor of at a huge mansion- but the mansion holds a deep dark past that will come out no matter what.

Hollywood inspiration: Momento
Ghajini is a romance tragic thriller film that also has a Bollywood remake with the same name. The movie has just a slight change in the storyline- the original Hollywood movie ‘Momento’ released in 2000 is about a man who loses all his memory and uses notes to remember his past and even present events of his life. However, one memory he remembers for sure- his wife was killed by some unknown goons. Now, he has made his life goal to find out his wife’s murderers and avenge her death.
3. Tamil movie: Avvai Shanmugi
Hollywood inspiration: Mrs. Doubtfire
A cute family comedy film starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role is about a man who has recently divorced and wants to take care of her daughter but his wife is not allowing it. In desperation, he even tries to kidnap his daughter! Finally, he gets an idea- dons women’s clothes and comes to their house as a maid. A funny Hollywood movie that has an equally funny Tollywood copy! You can watch both the movies and you will enjoy both of them.
4. Tamil movie: Kandukondain Kandukondain
Hollywood Inspiration: Sense And Sensibility
Both the movies are inspired by the romance drama novel of Jane Austen- Sense and Sensibilities. The movie is about two elder sisters trying to take care of their households while also trying to find love- however, they only get heartbreak in return. Hollywood Inspiration: Urban Legend
This horror crime thriller is inspired by the movie- Urban Legend. The film is about a young girl named Swathi who gets bullied by her classmates and commits suicide. Years later, the two friends who bullied her are afraid that Swathi might have returned and is taking revenge on them. Why? Because mysterious murders are happening around them.

Hollywood inspiration: Alone
Chaarulatha is an exact copy of the horror thriller Hollywood film- Alone. The film is about two conjoined twins named- Chaaru and Latha. While Ravi is in love with Chaaru- both twins have fallen for him. So, when Latha dies while they undergo an operation to separate the twins- she is heartbroken even after she is dead! And, she returns to take revenge from her twin sister and take back the love of her life.

An unofficial remake of the superhit movie- Baby’s Day Out, which is extremely popular on a global level! Well, the film’s story revoles around a child of a wealthy family who is being kidnapped by some jobless men in hopes of getting some ransom. However, the child is extremely smart and ends up giving them a hard time the whole day! A funny family film that will give you lots and lots of scenes to watch and laugh like crazy!
8. Tamil movie: Yaarukku Theriyum
Hollywood inspiration: Unknown
A thriller drama film that was released in 2012, is about six individuals who find themselves locked inside a warehouse- their memories- all gone. Now, they are trying to recognize their past and all the events that led to this place, and ways to free themselves. So, a mysterious movie in which you will keep discovering new facts along with the characters. Unknown, a 2011 Hollywood movie follows a similar story about a man waking up and realizing that his identity has been stolen.
9. Tamil movie: Enthiran
Hollywood Inspiration: Making Mr. Right
A superhit sci-fi action film that is quite a lot similar to the Hollywood movie named ‘Making Mr. Right’. The film is about a scientist who designed a robot that looks like him. However, the problems arise when Chitti- programmed to have feelings and thinking similar to humans- starts to have feelings for the scientist’s girlfriend. The movie is a lot similar to the Hollywood film and if you want to know what things and storylines match- watch both of them!

Hollywood inspiration: Strangers on the Train
A copy of the classic superhit movie of Alfred Hitchcock- Strangers on the Train. Except for the fact that in this movie- they met on a road journey instead of on a train- the rest of the story seems to be the same. The movie is about two psychotic strangers meeting by chance and discussing a strange deal- getting away with a murder!
