A 2005 Tamil-language action thriller, this film has an 8.3 IMDb rating and garnered a lot of attention from the public at the time of its release. He takes tips from ‘Garuda Purana’ to punish all the antisocial evil individuals. His killing sprees are rather too violent and graphic to think of him as a good ‘white’ character.
3. Bandit Queen
A Shekhar Kapoor directorial, this movie was a biopic showing the gruesome nature of the patriarchal society where women are ripped off of their peace, dignity, and life. It shows that a sexually assaulted Phoolan Devi decides to take gruesome revenge on all men who raped her and inflicted violence on her by killing them violently. The movie showed graphic violence that could disturb you for many days after you finish watching the film.

5. Gangs of Wasseypur
A gangster universe created by Anurag Kashyap starts with a violent gun-firing scene and the rest of the movie also has many such fight scenes. The movie shows two gangs of people fighting for power and the throne of an area of India— the violence they showed was even more scary because it was too close to reality. The movie shot in two parts did not even give chance to the viewers to be prepared, it could bring the fights and violent scenes on with a sudden shock sending the viewers into a frenzy!
6. Ajji
Ajji is a revenge-seeking dark thriller where the granny fondly called ‘Ajji’ goes on a red rage when some powerful people brutally rape her 10-year-old granddaughter. Her red revenge will crawl through your skin, and make your blood boil too. The movie is half violent half disturbing, and the slow pace initially and then a fast gripping action later on where an old woman gains so much power just so she can kill each person who took advantage of her minor girl.
7. Animal
The animal became a blockbuster despite all the criticism it received. The protagonist played by Ranbir Kapoor is shown craving for his father’s attention since childhood. But, when he doesn’t get it back no matter what he did— he grows up, gets married, and moves out of the country. However, one day he receives a call that his father is shot. He comes back to India with his whole family— and from there starts his animal version. He makes an army of his cousins to kill each and every person who he finds a culprit in his father’s assassination attempt.
8. Rakht Charitra
Ram Gopal Verma’s action thriller follows the rule of ‘revenge is the purest emotion’. And, this movie stays true to this message. The film is based on true events. However, that’s not what makes the film stand out. The rivalry going on between two underworld gangsters in Mumbai is what this film is about. It starts with a violent scene and throughout the film, there is blood, a gun, a machete, a hammer, and everything with which a person can be killed.
9. Pudhupettai
A 2006 action thriller film, it follows the story of a slum-dweller who is an innocent student. But, some incidents push him towards the dark and dirty lanes of the underworld. He moves from Pudhupettai slums to rise up as the biggest gangster in North Chennai. The movie shows how a normal person can do whatever is necessary, be it becoming a killing machine, to survive. This film starred Dhanush in the lead role of Kokki, the gangster.
10. Kill
Karan Johar’s latest production— the dark action thriller ‘Kill’ is said to be the most violent film in India. It shows a few army men returning to Delhi via a train after taking a few days off. One of them wanted to catch his girlfriend who would marry someone of her father’s choice. The film stars Raghav Juyal in the role of the lead antagonist. The movie has shown almost 46 murder scenes. Happening inside a train— there is too much violence happening inside a confined space. It is a claustrophobic gory horror that will creep and crawl through your skin.
These were all the most violent Indian movies, and there are many films with graphic violence. However, using gore to showcase the inner demons of humans, with a meaningful plot is not that easy. These were a few of those that were successful in impressing audiences and critics.
