It is here that she decided to elope and start and new life with her lover in Puttur. After her family, grew suspicious of her intention to leave her husband and run off with her lover, they restricted her movements taking her phone and all the money she had.

The Karnataka Government, after coming into power, introduced the “Karnataka Shakti Yojna” in 2023, providing free bus rides for women in government buses across the state starting the 11th of June this year.
